How to fish Tfisherman trout worms

The fishing rod and reel to be use are a matter of personal choice. Use what works best for you. We prefer a light  rod with a fast action, usually rated 2-6, 2-8, or 4-8 lb test line. The trout hit hard and fast and a rod with enough backbone and fast action works well to get a hard and fast hook set.

Fish the worm on a small size bait holder hook (I use a size #12) run the hook through at the center of the worm and leave point exposed. Place a small split shot (size 4 to 7) about 18” to 36” above the hook, cast out and slowly work the worm lifting and dropping the tip of the rod, as you reel in. Trout usually hit as the worm is falling. They may also be fished with a plastic casting bubble, or slow trolled behind a boat. We recommend fishing them on 2-lb test line. The worms have scent baked in and work well just as they are, however on slow days; you may want to add scent just before casting out. Any of the popular scents may be used.

Split shot rig with trout worm, this will work but hook should be in center of worm for better results.
